I use Camtasia to record all of my reviews for YouTube and lately (my last 2-3) reviews have had about 10-12 second delay. I sincerely appologize for that. I have found the reason why this is happening: Per the TecSmith dev team
How long is the recording? What kind of sound card do you have? Some sound cards do not keep time very well. Their internal clocks may run too fast or too slow. This can cause the audio driver to deliver too many or too few samples in a given amount of time. Camtasia Recorder has code to drop an audio sample every so often when the audio driver delivers too many samples. This can be done without any noticable degradation in audio quality. Camtasia Recorder does not add any fake audio to account for drivers that may deliver too few samples (rare).
You could test your audio card/driver by recording using Windows Sound Recorder, or some other simple audio recording app. If you record for 1 minute by a stopwatch (I think Windows Sound Recorder automatically stops at 1 minute), and then check the file properties, you should have exactly one minute of audio. If you only have around 57 seconds of audio, then this is the fault of the audio card/driver. Updating the sound card and/or drivers has the best chance of fixing the issue.
