Answering Comments and Questions On Sunday and Monday

I’d just like to say I’m sorry for not getting back to everyone this weekend, but I have two little girls and I need to put up Christmas stuff. Last year we won the neighborhood light show and this year is “off tha hook”. Anyway, talk to ya tomorrow.

Hey Matt, thank you for all of your hard work. I first came across your YouTube page when looking for reviews for Anti-Spyware programs, and that of course led me here. I never really had problems with spyware, viruses, or malware in the past. That was, until a few weeks ago. I was greatly impressed and appreciative of all of the research you’ve done so far and the videos, reviews, and recommendations that you’ve given to the internet community. As a result, I purchased and installed PC Tools Internet Security, I love it, and my PC has been running great ever since! Thank you again.

-Also, I loved the videos on building and using the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows. I had a question about HiJackThis. For someone who isn’t knowledgeable about processes, how do you know which ones are malicious and which ones are needed for normal system operation? Or to rephrase….What would you recommend for an intermediate computer user to do when editing/removing processes manually that could be malicious? Thanks.

    - Corey

@Corey – thanks man, I’m honored! Reading a HiJackThis log can be a pretty confusing task for a novice. If you think you may have a suspicious log please send it to me:

    corey,
you can also go to hijackthis.de and paste the log there and hit analyze. it will cross reference the list to what they have then give you a nice on screen read out with everything marked and color coded. letting u know what to remove.

    happy virus huntin’,
    trey
