Sorry dude but it still has the notifier thing and id guess that they made it unbreakable, but im not sure. Whats cool though is that it has antispyware and antiadware that is a great upgrade in my eyes for a free product. I am using Comodo internet security because of its prevention ability. I dont need a great scanner because I have mbam and sas as well as the CIS antivirus. But it is your personal choice. You cant go wrong with either choice.

yes promotions well work. i have a promotion for 6 months that i got in January and the program updated to version 9, but i m not 100% sure they will work on a new install.
I think that the main good news is that now the free version has the same detection as the Premium versions and that will convince many people that Avira is much better than AVG and Avast.
I wonder why ppl even use AVG when both avast! and now AVIRA are far superior.

It still has its advert however, it can still be blocked by the previous methods. If not I have blocked it in CIS (Defence + and firewall only).
AVG is far superior to Avira and Avast. No doubt about it.

The new AVira looks greater, altough the designe remais simple.
Anyway on “Product About” it says that the detection engine is 8.0XXXX version.
Does it have changed ? Or it´s just a “designe” upgrade ? (I mean for PREMIUM users).

Another thing I like about it is when doing a full pc scan it won’t popup when it first finds a virus (meaning you have to sit there until it does), it gives you a popup window at the end with all the infections and a ‘Repair all’ button.
Whenever I try to install this, it just uninstalls the version that I have on the computer, then stops installing, leaving me with no avira and no installer. Does avira’s built in updater install this version?
