Comodo Internet Security 3.8 Released!

One of the best internet security suites (Comodo Internet Security) just got a few major upgrades! …and Yes, I’m preparing a full review on install, config, detection, removal and prevention.  I have a newly infected machine, so CIS 3.8 will be going up threats that are about 2 weeks old (at most).

    Its still in Beta, but should be alot better than the old release..

    OMG i aready installed it and it works like a charm but the histricks engine is pretty sweet

    Detection rate can be low as they are still converting the database from the old version to the new version. Because of this detection rate dropped. I’ve been talking to one of the developers and he told me that by the end of this week the DB conversion will be completed. Still, heuristics only detects packers but it is a huge step forward on Comodo AntiVirus.

    Looking forward to the video.

    Few things that needs to be remembered for Matt’s review (Hope he reads this first!) to better understand Defense+:

    -Defense+ will make sure anything that is thrown at it, is NOT executed! If you find malware on the Hard Drive that D+ did Alert for, This malware is NOT active, D+ is not a cleaning purpose, it’s for prevention and prevents everything executed (This is for prevention), So if Matt also finds for prevention that he still sees malware processes, Even though D+ did Alert for, All you gotta do is reboot and those malware in memory (RAM) are gone – But still malware might be spread on the HD, Once again – They are not running in RAM and cannot be executed. So really, NO need to kill & block – I mean you can off course! But when you run say AV 2009 and D+ did Alert for and you blocked it, It won’t run, it will be on the HD but will NOT be aloud to execute. Remember this is malware Comodo AV did not detect…

    - As I said in my last sentence above,Defense+ will NOT Alert if the AV detects something, therefore, better usability! AV catches say 40 % of all malware, D+ will prevent the rest!
    -Matt can switch to “Proactive Security” to turn CIS into the ultimate protecting machine, But really, by default it is good enough! But for Prevetion, Matt is looking for probably out of the box protection and it is good enough! :)

    This is just for Matt as he was wondering why malware was still running in Task Manager – Don’t worry, The malware isn’t executing anything, just reboot and wala! :)

    I’m looking forward to detection and removal, Just FYI Matt and everyone: CIS 3.9 will be hopefully due out end of march, which will include better heuristics, and BOClean Memory Scanner! :)

    Then in a few months after march… CIS 4.0!! :-)

    Yep!! CIS 4.0 is coming this year! :) Major Changes for CIS 4.0:
    - Brand new GUI (Usability overhaul)
    -Comodo Time Machine (Was Comodo DiskShield – BETA, But this is similar To Apple’s Time Machine for MAC, It will turn your PC back in time if something goes wrong)
    -Lot’s and lot’s of usability!! :)

    Matt mbam is detecting comodo as a tojen c/windows/system32/guard32.dll iv reported the false positive and a lot of others are having the same problem the funny thing is it doesn’t show up on my log file but was detected on a quick scan
