DefenseWall just got another nice update. Check out the changelog below:
DefenseWall HIPS v2.48 released.
1. Correct DOS named identification for remote resources under Windows XP.
2. Mount manager critical functions protection.
3. "Plugins" folder manipulatons protection.
4. Complete MS Office processes separation. With it, its trusted processes won't be turned to untrusted state.
5. You can disable logging.
6. Complete Fast User Switch function support.
7. BlockInput function is blocked.
8. "Resource Protection" notification windows are off by default.
9. Compatibility issues fixes.

I thought the previous version only came out a couple of months ago… the one thing I didn’t like was USB protection. I found that my word documents on the drive where all opened as untrusted, and thus any saves where made impossible and in the end it all went really down hill. I’m gonna give the new version of DriveSentry a go and see if much has changed.

Jimmy James, this issue can be very easy to solved- just add the documents folder into the “Untrusted applications” excludes. Other solution can be adding those documents folder into the “Files and Registry Protection Excludes”. DW gives you all the tools you can use to set up your working environment. I just wander why you didn’t post at my support forum- it’s just the right place for that.
