Next Review…Hitman 3.5

Hi guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that my next review will be on Hitman 3.5. Hitman Pro utilizes multiple scan engines to remove malware already present on a PC (it’s a cleaner). If I finish my evening appointments early I’ll upload it tonight. You can read more about hitman pro via the link below:

Also, here is a quote from their website that quickly explains what hitman does

Hitman Pro 3 is a fast all-in-one tool to locate, identify and remove viruses, spyware, trojans, rootkits and other malware. Hitman Pro 3 will quickly show if your PC is infected with malicious software.
Hitman Pro 3 uses innovative cloud computing techniques to detect and remove potential malware threats with minimal impact on system performance.

Please +1 this post if you like me :)

Sounds promising. Maybe I can use this alone during UBCD4Win cleans instead of some other combination. Looking forward to the review!

    Matt,

    Can you also test

    http://www.privacyware.com/personal_firewall.html

    It includes hips

and also another cloud based antivirus that is supposedly very light and good and unlike panda cloud is compatiable with other avs. I have it paired with MSE and threatfire. Very nice.

    It is called immunnet

    Tried HMP not long ago.
What turned me off to this one (at least for now)is that there is no quarantine of any kind in case of a FP that needs to be restored. When you delete something,it’s gone for good.

Please do a review on kav 2010

There was a KIS 2010 review – search.

Matt, when you’ll upload this review? It’s been 5 days since you posted info that you’ll upload this review.

sorry for all that have immunnet i just tested it on zero day maleware. same source as mat for malware and it doesnt do anything. better off with a peice of tape on your computer to keep malware out lol.

  • max

Dont count panda cloud out yet guys I just tested with same zero day urls which immunet faild all of them. panda killed them all about 15 urls. so by the time they are done I think panda will be the lite on resource in the cloud AV every 1 is looking for.

    Hi Matt,

Enjoy your reviews — thanks for doing them.

Just watched the one on Hitman. As I understand it, only unidentified files that look suspicious to Hitman’s proprietary engine get sent to the cloud, and only those are scanned by the five engines.

Also, there is no realtime protection. You can do on-demand scans for free forever. You can use the cleaning function for one month for free. The paid version allows you to clean beyond the free month.

A lack of a quarantine is a concern. You mentioned you put back system files afterward if necessary. (I thought you preferred to start with Dr. Web for its superior healing capability, to avoid the deletion of infected files…?) A video on that process would be very helpful.

    Keep up the good work!

    Steve
