  • Man…cleaning conficker off 150 workstations is tough. Must be some box not in their vipre management console. #
  • FYI – ms08-067 does nothing to stop conficker if your network admin passwords are weak. This worm bounces from box to box so fast.. #
Please +1 this post if you like me :)

    this one is for x64 vista…next time your costumers get infected by conficker format their HDD and install one of those patches

  • Blink

    Is conficker still infecting?????

  • 123zap

    Why should he format the HD when he can just remove the worm and install the patch.

  • malwarekilla

    @Blink – yup…and it rootkits every machine it infects (at least in my case)…anyone wonder where I’ve been??? …in a cleanup nightmare.

    I’m finally finishing up, but it took about 8 days.

    The antivirus that was “supposed” to be protecting the PC’s and servers was Vipre Enterprise…junk. I had to use GMER to disable the rootkits (and delete them).

    I’ve never seen any enterprise anti-virus require more reboots…ever…ever.

  • max

    Hey I,am trying defensewall and sandboxie together. no firewall no anti virus thx to your reviews Iam in love with this combo. pc is very fast now send that conflicker here so i can test my pc out lol

  • Ryan

    ummmm…… max you need an anti virus no matter what protection you have… if you dont have an anti virus and you want one here are some good ones.
    microsoft security essentials beta.
    witch you can download from softpedia

    security essentials is the one with the blue icon.

    avira is another good antivirus http://www.avira.com

    This all seems strange to me because a company that has 150 work stations would have personal contact with Sunbelt Software to address this issue. They a support forum for ENTERPRISE SUPPORT

  • malwarekilla

    @Buck – yep, I’m working with them directly

  • Buck

    Matt,I guess Vipre Antivirus for personal use would fall into the same JUNK PILE as VIPRE Enterprise,almost the same program.

  • Jack

    @Matt

    Didn’t you use Vipre in the past to remove Conficker infections? I vaguely remember that post. What happened since to their software?

  • lee

    I had Vipre installed on my home pc for a while, I dont know, it’s ok I guess, but it has a few to many quirks for me to stick with it.

    Right now, Im using Norton Anti 09, Sandboxie and Malwarebytes, been using this combo for a while now and really like it.

    I’d really like to upgrade to a Secruity Suite but Im not sure which one. Many of them seem bloated with alot of features that I really dont need or want.

  • languy99

    @lee

    if you want a security suite that is top above all, get kaspersky internet security, not only does it have a ton of features it is also light on the system for what it runs. Right now I have it running on vista and it is using 12MB of ram. The nice thing is that it actually has a HIPS built in so if something does make it past the signatures and heuristics you can still kill it easily.
