    Avast’s interface was quite good.
    btw Nice review ;)

  • Tom

I sure would of liked to see heuristics set on HIGH (not normal) from the start. Avast needs all the help it can get.

  • Johan

Matt always uses the Normal default settings,
since that is what the average user would do.

The average user don’t care about changing the settings.

  • Buck

I will say your review sparked some interest on the avast WEB forum.

  • malwarekilla

@Kinar – yeah, I agree, I luv that new UI. Thanks btw!

  • malwarekilla

@Tom – I’ll be cranking up the heuristics in the removal video.

  • malwarekilla

@Johan – exactly. When a user has a clean PC they just perform the least amount of work..install..update..get a life.

  • malwarekilla

@Buck – I’m sure. It’s not a bad app, it’s just not enough. I’m looking forward to testing the pro version.

  • oren

will the pro version show different detection rate ???

    • malwarekilla

@oren – I doubt it. I’m just after the sandbox offered in the pro version.

  • Johan

    BTW Matt!

Do you think you will try out Comodo Internet Security 4.0 Beta wich is now available?

  • Thomas

Ok but the thing with these shields is the same deal with F-Secure’s ISTP 2010. How you had to change the shields to allways notify or something like that and thanks for replying.

  • Thomas

    @Skip!

    Well, how would that work?

First, their isn’t any website where he can go and find links that goes to websites that is infected with Mac malware, since there’s not a lot of Mac malware out there YET. Even if you for sure can get across Mac malware by drive-by downloads,
    and Trojans when downloading software.

Second it only runs on a Mac.

I have checkd out Intego for a long time.
And it’s a very nice company, and I know that I will use VB X6 on my iMac once Apple is fixing the flickering, and blackouts that the current iMacs is having unfortunately!
