Configuring Sandboxie To Delete Sandbox Contents Automatically

In my last post I briefly went over how I use Sandboxie and how I encourage my family and clients to actually use it.  In this post I’m going to show you how to configure Sandboxie so that it’ll automatically delete anything that gets downloaded into the Sandbox (like some fake (rogue) anti-virus for example).

  1. Open Sandboxie Control (under program files)
  2. Right Click Sandbox DefaultBox and click Sandbox Settings
  3. Click Delete
  4. Click Invocation
  5. Click the first checkbox
  6. Click Apply
  7. Click OK

Now, when you browse the internet via Sandboxie EVERTHING that gets downloaded without your consent (rogue anti-virus) automatically gets deleted when you close Sandboxie.

Simple. Safe. Free.  :)

    Matt,

Can you please make a video review on Microsoft Security Essentials 2.0 Beta? according to Microsoft they did a protection enhancement on this new version. i want to see how good it is against the latest threats.

witch do you prefer sandboxie or defencewall?

Have you guys tried the Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10? Now you can run it from USB instead of using and iso image.

install Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 to your USB flash drive

    Matt,

There’s a glitch with your website…probably the caching settings. Depending on what computer I’m on, some comments show and some don’t. Multiple refreshes don’t make a difference either. I had the same problem with a Joomla site I had made once.

… Thanks for this Matt. ;-)

@Frank – Yeah, W3 Total Cache plugin is acting up again. I’ll have to remove it.

@Harry – Sandboxie at the moment. It’s free (which is a big plus for my clients) and it runs on a 64-bit OS. DefenseWall doesn’t run on a 64-bit OS. A lot of my new clients run Windows Vista/7 x64.

Matt, as you of now prefer Sandboxie so DefenseWall, don`t you think it deserves a place as one of your favourites in the prevention section?

    • malwarekilla

@Manab – yeah, a lot of those static pages need a complete overhaul. I’ll be working on that next week.

  • Thomas

    Hey!

Speaking of configuring Sandboxie, I have a question:

Is it possible to configure Sandboxie to install addons for Firefox when sandboxed, or do you have to do this only outside the sandbox?

    Thanks :)

      @Thomas – outside of Sandboxie.
