In my last review of Norton Internet Security 2009 we all saw NIS 2009 take on a highly infected computer and single handily return it to normal with relative ease. There is no doubt that Norton 09 products are absolutely fantastic for removing malware, but what about protecting my PC from malware installs, can Norton Internet Security guard this PC against 10 malicious links? See for yourself!

Thanks for another nice review Matt. Can you turn up the gain or pull the microphone closer? The volume is very low. Some reviews are fine, but many are difficult to hear.
It’s great to see Norton has vastly improved their product.
One thing previous versions of Norton has done very poorly is product un-installation. For example, downloading and installing for evaluation, then uninstall and it leaves stuff behind bad enough that other anti-virus products don’t install or work properly. Norton even has separate uninstallers to clean stuff after their product uninstaller. Have they improved upon this at all?
Thanks!
You are really late..
Yea Nis is a realy nice program. Light and great detection/prevention.
I have no doubts concerning the lightness and effectiveness of NIS 2009, I’m just crossing my fingers when it comes to future releases of the program. It’s one feat to trim the fat and return your product to the golden days of lean and mean security, it’s quite another to stay there and add new marketable features in the following years.
Dont worry, Symantec has huge amounts of money, and the 2009 edition has them collecting a large whitelist of files.
I wont be surprized if the 2010 version has a HIPS feature in it!!
I’ve just had a very bad experience with Norton 360 on my Vista and have decided to stay away from it for the rest of my life. Sorry to say this guys, but in the long term; Norton just slowly rots away your computer.
I love NIS 2009. It’s what I’m using.
let me say this, Norton 2009 fail!! I purposely tried to infect myself with the antivirus 360 rogue software and it installed and completely passed Norton like it was nothing. How shitty.
languy99 an av can’t detect 100% of all malware/virus threats..
