I’m always testing and retesting every month to make sure my method of malware removal is “100% solid”. I thought I’d record this months test of SuperAntiSpyware Pro and share it with everyone. The test goes like this:
- Install SAS Pro.
- Update It
- Reboot Into safemode
- Run a full scan
- Remove anything found
- Reboot
- Install MBAM
- Update MBAM
- Run a full MBAM scan
- Remove anything SAS Pro failed to recognize
If you like seeing little test’s like this let me know..leave a comment. Here is the MBAM log.

It seems like your definitions didnt update correctly. It looks like your running database version 3555 (9-2-08)and Trace 1543. The lastest database is 3626 and trace is 1610.

very good review!
i belive mbam’s detecion i a bit better but on heavily infected pc’s i would use both
@andrew – uh oh…I’ll have to review that when i get home.
It looks like at 5:36 on the first vid you didn’t uncheck 3 of the top 4 boxes to provide a true deep scan. The scan takes much longer this way but is also much more thorough. Im not sure if SAS does a real Complete scan without unchecking the top boxes.
yeah, normaly you can se the updates dowload and installs, i saw neither. the date is 00 00 0000 and time fore the update is 00:00
and at 3:33 you can se the update reminder
bummer….looks like I’ll have to do a retest.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed but SUPERAntispyware has a little program called BootSafe, It is so you won’t have to tap F8 to boot into safe mode you just choose if you want to boot into Safe Mode, Safe mode with Networking, etc.. click reboot and it will reboot into safe mode by itself.
I don’t know if this is included in the free version of SAS because I use the pro version, BootSafe can be found in the SAS install directory.
