I just stumbled upon a little application that allows you to scan your PC for all types of software vulnerabilities. The name of this little application is Secunia PSI.
After installing Secunia PSI click the Start Scan button. When the scan has completed all the software that should be patched is listed with Threat Ratings and direct download links to patches (Solutions).

Yep ,I use this application provided by Secunia.com for about 2 months and it does a great job ,i recommend to use it in advanced mode . It displays links to download the right patches and overall is a good app. Thanks for letting others know about it.
do you have to have this program enabled at startup or is it possible to scan with it manually
@fsibechi – Sure, if any other people have utilities that they use leave a comment and I’ll put up a post.
@jamesste2k7 – As far as I know you just run it manually
matt thanks m8 tht kwl so can i reccomend this to my friends aswell?
It is recommended that you stop Secunia PSI for starting on boot by following this steps : open main interface – select the advanced mode for interface , then select the settings tab and uncheck : Start Secunia on boot and Enable program monitoring.
If you have the Java platform installed it’s recommended that you uninstall older updates or Secunia PSI will warn you that Java is still not updated and your system is not fully patched .
I hope that this application will help everyone cleaning infected systems especially if you have to deal with constant redirections and you are unable to download some app’s to help you clean the PC and the hosts file is messed up or if the malware is trying to kill the setup of every anti-malware tool.
This app is called Anti-malware toolkit and in essence is a specialized downloader that retrieves the latest and greatest ,i think, anti-malware app’s like Spyware Blaster Malwarebytes Anti-malware , SuperAntispyware Rogue Remover Free, Spybot S&D, Hijack-this, Avira antivir, Avast and other wonderfull app’s like CCleaner Firefox , Opera and others. Also you can retrieve updates for your installed app’s.
This app is free and requires Net Framework 2.0 but you can make a small donation for it’s developer. Moore info you can find here : http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/Anti-Malware_Toolkit and you can download it from developer’s Site: http://www.lunarsoft.net/downloads/cat_view/39-anti-malware-toolkit .
You can run it from on a USB stick and takes about 32 Mb of space I hope that you find this useful and i hope that more utilities will be added to the package.
PSI is great and i’ve been using it from day one in beta. Other programs i use – just checking latest versions – are : Filehippo’s Free Update Checker ( http://www.filehippo.com/updatechecker/ ) and Sumo from KC Softwares ( http://www.kcsoftwares.com/?sumo )
