Hi Everyone! I created a video that shows you how to make your windows box boot quickly for free. All the software you’ll need is included in Windows XP or Windows Vista. Using Msconfig you can achieve amazing boot-times as well as a much faster runtime (how fast your computer runs after it boots).

Please note – only disable items that do NOT need to startup automatically. If you find that you need a disabled startup item to start at boot then just re-enable it through msconfig.

Could I just make a note that you really shouldn’t be doing this on a laptop!
Actually I do it all the time. I may leave on the wireless manager, power manager, etc. Works fine. I probably do it 3 times a day…no issues in 2 years.
Well I did it on my laptop and it screwed up. I need to know what to disable and what not to disable I think…

When in doubt about some startup item / process you can always “google” it for more information.
Anyway, I always disable stuff by other means (there is a option on SKYPE and MSN, for example, to not startup with the system)…
I also recommend a litle and free program called “CCLEANER”.
A registry cleaner is not a “magic tools” but it still helps.
Also there are some “clean junk” tools inside this program… and a STARTUP cleaner also!
You can also “change” some programs… For example: Why use NERO 9.0 to burn a CD/DVD if the “free and light” CDburnerXP does the same job ?
Why use Adobe Acrobat Reader if a 3MB free software called “FoxIt READER” does the job ?
Whay use Microsoft Office 2007 if you can use the free and small OpenOffice…
Photoshop to crop and remove a red eye ?
AOL IM, MSN, Skype… why not Pidgin ?
And so on…
(There are some people that will use “many” functions that NERO/ADOBE/MSOFFICE have exclusivily… but they are exceptions).

i know how to fix your problem.
step1: put your computer back in the box.
step2: take it back to the shop and tell them your too thick to use it and u say your a computer help guy but don’t know how to use msconfig.
step3:sit in the corner of your bedroom reading how to click a mouse button for dummies.
