NIS Questions

Postby slider916 » Tue Jul 20, 2010 11:02 am

I've been playing with the trial version of NIS since the other product I was using seems to lack in fixing issues.

I was wondering when using NIS, do I need to do anything special to get utorrent to work or does it automatically add it?

Also, is there anything within NIS I need to do to add my latpop to my network?

I'm still going through all the settings, but I wanted to ask this stuff up front.

Thanks.

uTorrent needs your hardware firewall to be port forwarded. Not your software firewall. If the check mark does not turn green in uTorrent then click on it and it will lead you to the Port Forward site where you will find your answer. If you have NIS's firewall in auto mode then you dont need to do a thing.

Thanks.

I already have my port forwarded in my firewall, so I'm all good.

As long as uTorrent gives you a green check mark then you are all set.

I've read that KIS firewall is supposed to be better than NIS.
How is this so?

Thanks in advance.
