Ok so Revo uninstaller found like 6k + leftover registry items, it's really ok to delete all of those? Also, if i hit select all will it also delete the non bold items, because the select all option check marks everything but it also says that only checked bolded items will be deleted so i'm not convinced/

Yeah i dont know whether to go Avast + Sandboxie + Online Armour -- or -- Avast + GeSwall

For what my humble opinion is worth, I believe that Avira does not cause annoying hangs like Avast did. Then again I am possibly more obsessed with those kinds of side effects than most users.

As far as a firewall, I really liked Online Armor. You have to study it a little to get the hang of it, but once you do, it is a great tool, and even if you don't get that skilled with the capabilities of it, it is a great firewall in my experience.

Either way, whether Avast, or Avira, or OA, or Comodo, they are great suggestions. ;)

Are you saying i can hit select all safely or do i have to manually check all of the bold items? Because select all puts check marks next too the non bolded items as well

Checking the bold items automatically causes all items in that tree to be selected, read over it to be sure but generally you can remove without worry, as far as your query earlier about the rootkit, what was there may have been labeled rootkit, spyware, malware, it really doesn't matter what it was but more that it was there and is no longer, the rest of the Gmer detections were nothing but Dr Web and Sophos related files used by those programs to hook files, normal behaviour. As other have stated pick your security combo if you wanna call it that and learn how it works, you're pretty much all set now. 8-)

Earlier I posted a little script for resetting or clearing your proxy, although you do not need it now here is another little bit you can copy and save as cleardns.bat again making sure you do not save as cleardns.bat.txt This will reset any specified IP and DNS servers which sometimes I have seen people manage to set or an infection had set which left them without internet. Again you don't need it right now but for others toolkits or anyones future use, just much quicker to run this dns and the other proxy reset before you go to cleaning a pc so you return the internet connection (if determined it is needed, everyones cleaning methods vary).

But can i select a nonbold item like "My Computer" to select all the 6k+ items? It says it will delete only the checked bold items so is it safe to just check my computer to easily select all of them?

Just click "select all" It will only delete the last item in the tree. Just cause all those are checked off does not mean thats whats gonna be removed. If that was the case then your pc would be crippled. Doesn't matter anyways cause Revo does a complete registry backup.

No you cannot got back. Take time to read the help file in each of those security products. Set all your browsers to "run safer" in Online Armor. http://www.tallemu.com/webhelp3/KF-RunSafer.html

Set up your Daughter with a limit rights account.
