After further review, the RAM usage does not appear to be related to Sandboxie, but I still don't understand the three inline hooks that are definitely associated with it. Avast uses only one online hook. Even when I am not browsing with Sandboxie those three inline hooks exist.

I believe that I will simply use Avast's sand box if I feel the need for a virtual environment.
