Updates for MSE are supposed to be pushed through Windows Update. I believe that the missing "option" was intended. Makes sense IMO.

Microsoft has promised to keep the beta current with the latest virus and spyware definitions and also provide ongoing updates to the software itself. To receive the software updates, you'll need to subscribe to Microsoft Update and set your preferences to automatically download and install new updates, according to the company.

Can you suggest suggestions for beta? In which case I would suggest that they make it so the service and processes can't be terminated.

Can anyone confirm whether with BHO gets installed on Windows XP SP3 with IE8 installed?

Edit: Not installed with 64-bit IE8. :|
