Dose MSE have a heuristic engine or it's only using the signatures? :)
From what i've seen it dose not have any heuristic engine... ,That;s why MSE it's good but not perfect.

MSE has good basic protection. It's good detection rate, friendly user interface, and credibility probably make it the antivirus most novice user default to.

I will admit I haven't looked into it but I recall it had no process termination protection, if they have great, if not then this might be more important that most anything else after a year.

31 millions, not 3 millions! Lot of users ,too bad it failed in latest Av-comparatives.
A fool with an antivirus tool is still a fool.
If you can't convince them, confuse them.
The last thing I want to do is insult you. But it IS on the list.

MSE is good, but it's not the best. It still could use some work compared to other free AV's, hopefully we'll be seeing this in MSE's future.

gusthebus this is not an A vs B conversation. also MSE did not fail the latest Av-comparatives. they just didn't get great scores. they got Advanced. even though it would have been nice if it would have receive an Advanced +. i do agree that they still need some work, hopefully Microsoft can work on it. they have the resources to make it one of the best AV's out there.

Failing is when your security program can't protect from most malware! Failing can be seen different by each person ,maybe you're used to weak security but i'm not. Their job is to blacklist and it failed. When it comes to Microsoft i have big hopes. It's like playing chess with it's creator not with Kasparov. It's their playground and they failed to defend it! Av-Comparatives is a trusted company but when it comes to giving grades ,they stink literally.
