Use Captcha when New Member Registers

Postby pranaygtr » Wed Aug 05, 2009 2:49 pm

Suggestion:
Don't know if it's possible, but require some sort of CAPTCHA system when a new member becomes part of this forum (ie. when they sign up).

Example;
Simple addition: 8+2?
Random Text: FZTGRW

Will this be enough to reduce the amount of spammers signing up?
Example; The one that happened recently (about the medicine spam).

They wont stop! Good suggestion but they will always come back... :(
A fool with an antivirus tool is still a fool.
If you can't convince them, confuse them.
The last thing I want to do is insult you. But it IS on the list.

A spammer could still enter in the first captcha, and then the bot follows up

Captchas every say 10 posts would be good, and that limit would be raised if your account say stands good ie 100+ posts and no bands
then it would be raised to 20, mods no limit
that would be hard to impliment

captchas every post would tick almost everyone off and users would probaby fall greatly

Some sort of captcha every 10 posts for the first 50 posts.
I prefer the number ones. :geek:

That wouldn't be bad but honestly they can just fill in the captcha and keep going.
