Eset Smart Security and Eset Nod32 4.2beta is now available! It has improved antispam and firewall. All main modules of Eset Smart Security(ESS) has been improved, such as antivirus, antispyware, firewall and antispam. It now offers to make a rescue disk in Windows 7. You have to remember that it's still in beta-mode, so it do not contain all the features and functionalities expected in the final version. The final version will be available in the first quarter of 2010.

This is to all those who keep on saying that ESET doesn't improve its engine,it has a bad firewall ......etc etc.Once again, ESET has taken a step forward on improving its security suite to compete better in the market.It has a better firewall which I'm going to test against CLT and all its modules have been updated and improved.Truely a respectful company

Both of you are absolutely right.

Eset has now improved the firewall, and all of its module, so this is promising! I've already said that Eset is the best antivirus program on the market, because it is much lighter than Kaspersky, and, the Nod32 antivirus engine is absolutely fantastic! It would be amazing if they were going to add a HIPS when the final release will be released.

I tested eset nod32 4.2 even though it was in beta. I just have to say I have a very good feeling about it.

How did you tested it? How good was it?

I went to a website that hosts malware. Nod32 4.2 detected 10/10 that I threw at it. The interface looks the same though.

Remember that the 4.2 version is an update. The management in Eset has said they wouldn't release a "Eset Nod32 5", but update the 4 version more and more until version 5 will be reached.
