SSS20, Malwarebytes does not have an AV. Malwarebytes has antimalware. It won't detect things like Virut and certain things like that. Malwarebytes also should go big because then the quality of MBAM would go down. They couldn't put nearly as much time into perfecting the program that people need most, the free version.

Nice Job Bill.

For users that don't know this. The IP balloon should be present for 7-10 seconds after a block, and while the balloon is up, you should be able to right-click the tray icon and choose Add to Ignore List.

Yes, the protection module keeps improving as well, the IP Protection is powerful on its own.

Virut is in Malwarebytes database:

Some Virut variants aren't buggy and can be disinfected properly though. This is another story.

I use the pro version and I'm happy with it. I hardly notice it's there :P

I like the pro version since I have it. Since MBAM got Merijn on board their product has really gotten quite good.

Does the Pro version, scan in realtime or just IP protection?

It has 2 kinds, IP and file protection. The IP blocks malicious links, and the file protection isn't exactly a realtime, from what I understood. It only detects a malicious file on your PC when you click on it, it's not necessary that it has to be a double click, just click on it. Then you'll get a pop-up with quarantine and ignore. When a popup appears, your PC will stop responding to you. You have to choose one option and then you can use the PC. Thats what I understood :?

Avast heuristically (I think) and signaturely checks for malicious IPs. Then it also has a realtime scanner of files. So if something misses the IP protection then it can still be stopped by the other protection module.
