Personally i use avast free as my anti virus and as much as i would love to support AIS, i cant because i kind of feel like im paying $60 for nothing... no hips, behavior blocker, lame firewall, so they need to fix some things and add some major components.
Between KIS and CIS its really hard to say, i think KIS is the better suite, CIS is close but not quite there, but for free id definately go for CIS.

KIS has a complete suite you can find as it covers well.

KIS is a better suite in my opinion. Comodo's antivirus still needs work.

Who knows how AIS is improving? It was released two months ago, and since then only bug fixes have been released…
It is Alwil’s first firewall, their first virualization, their first behaviour shield…
I have used CIS since 3.5 (the first version, released October 2008), and it has been greatly improved since then. New features, much better AV, much “quieter”… The sandbox is new and needs improvements, both bug fixes and new features (in CIS 4.1…). 3.5 felt like a firewall + scanner. 4.0 feels more like a security suite, whatever that means…

KIS is a senior in this business.
CIS is still new and growing.
AIS is almost a greenhorn.
it's all a matter of maturity, but if you're asking for the best, after considering all the factors, and given they all have the same time to grow, i feel CIS would top them all.

KIS also lets you create a Rescue Disk for those times malware disables Windows from booting up.
