good for you, that you love KIS Parental Control. i have to salute KIS for their ability to integrate it, and make it so excellent.

but do understand that we're comparing CIS to KIS, and the main concern here should never be about Parental Control.

that is just a nice addition, and you respect and love it.

but it doesn't keep CIS in the dust, in comparison to KIS, when it comes to dealing with malware.

i realised i kept repeating myself throughout all my posts, please guys, talk about the BLOCKING and PREVENTION of malware.

that is what matters most, all the rest are secondary, and can easily be substituted.

CIS CANNOT BLOCK OR PREVENT ANY malware thrown at it WITHOUT USER INTERVENTION. Out of the box there is too much user intervention. And when you have too much user intervention then you have the option for mistakes. There is NOTHING stopping anyone from click "allow" rather the block in CIS. KIS out of the box WITH NO USER INTERVENTION need can successfully block most malware. Lets see CIS do that. Watch Matt's review and see how many pop ups he gets and how many times he needs to click on things. ANYTHING CAN GET PASSED D+. Just click "allow". A HIPS is only as good as the user behind the mouse clicking. Think real world here. Not our world. Most users see a pop up and click "allow". Something KIS users do not need to worry about.

Why should we focus solely on the "BLOCKING and PREVENTION" of malware?
There are other important things to consider, especially when it comes to the average user.

ALookingInView,

that's the beauty of CIS. it doesn't let you come to the stage of REMOVAL, when it BLOCKS and PREVENTS everything before it happens. REMOVAL becomes the last resort. and yes, CAV is still weak. but we all know there are plenty of free substitutes out there to deal with this. i don't think i have to list it down for you.

mdfareez........if CAV is that weak that people need another free av to make up for it then CIS has lost the battle.

It can only "block and prevent" malware from executing IF the person behind the monitor doesn't screw up.
Even if you apply the Parental Control feature that automatically blocks the unknown, the person behind the monitor will still unblock it to install some new codec.
That's where CIS fails and KIS shines.
KIS's superior detection rate (and BB) would probably prevent this codec from installing.

Dieselman,

like i've said before in my previous post, nothing can save you from yourself. if you decide to be stupid, and click allow, then no one can save you.

same as for KIS, Matt has mentioned it in his video itself. this kid disabled KIS, as his Runescape was lagging. and he got infected.

but does that mean that KIS is inferior? NO! clearly not.

we are comparing security suites, put aside those dumb, noob users. and talk about the product's capabilities.

i am not a hardcore, diehard COMODO fan, don't get me wrong. but i feel they should be given plenty of credit for such a work, and giving it out for free. that's something hard to beat.

CAV is improving. but still that doesn't render CIS's protection as inferior.

i'm only using COMODO's firewall on my machine, no AV at all.

that's protecting me, completely.

how has CIS lost the battle, in my case?

Well I for one won't be giving COMODO any kudos, free internet security suite or not.

The "no one can save you" comment is inaccurate. KIS can save you!

In your case maybe you don't need CAV or any AV for that matter but how on earth does that make CIS better than KIS?

mdfareez...............watch the videos please. After doing that then you will see clearly that out of the box,no user intervention needed KIS wins hands down. No if CIS could do this then Comodo would be on top. But ever since Comodo Firewall 3.0 was released thats the problem. Too much user intervention. BTW if you password locked KIS then you will be able to shut it down. LOL. Of course Comodo firewall is protecting you when you have all the settings maxed out as described in your sig. Duh. Who needs an av when you have a HIPS product giving you an alert for every little thing you do.
