AIS has a long way to go. From what I understand, the FW is total crap.

Tor32..............The only reason you are voting for CIS is that your too cheap to buy KIS. I bet if you had a free license for KIS then you would use it.

I bet even with the 30 day free trial that comes with KIS he would still choose CIS becasue.... as dieselman said... it's free.

If you stack CIS and KIS side by side... completely ignoring the price tag on KIS :P

You'd notice that CIS bugs you for just about everything you do on your computer where as KIS does it automatically.

Sometimes with Defense+ I feel like I'm hitting "Allow" just to open the start menu. >.>

Well said VampireTooth. Until CIS can involve NO user intervention then it will always be a program for advanced pc users. CIS needs to be more noob friendly. I did a test as in matter of fact. My neighbor's NIS expired and she asked me if there is anything free. I went over to her condo and uninstalled NIS and cleaned it up with the Norton Removal tool. I then installed CIS and left it alone. I showed her about it and how to work the main GUI. Thats all I did. Exactly 1 hour later she was knocking at my door asking me what this pop up meant. It was about her tax program updater. I showed her how to read the alert and then click "allow". An hour later she was at my door again with 2 new pop ups and a fp from CAV. I took care of it all and went home. The next day she asked me to remove CIS cause during the day she had no idea how to use it or answer the questions. All she knows how to do it turn on her pc and read her email. She told me to put back on NIS since she called them and updated her subscription. She now was NIS 2010 instead of NIS 2009. So what did I learn..............Never install CIS on my customers pc's that lack pc knowledge. This has been the problem with CIS for the past years and they refuse to change it.

BTW Tor32..............I seems like you are so cheap that I bet I can stick a lump of coal up your butt and in 2 weeks you will have a diamond.

You are extremely wrong Tor32. KIS can make judgment calls based on heuristics and other factors for you. All done "Automatically". So a noob using KIS doesn't need to worry about decision making. CIS on the other hand leaves too much up to the user. What if my neighbor or anyone else just clicks "allow" to an alert not knowing what the program is? Well I will tell you what happens. They get infected cause CIS left to much of the decision making up the mouse clicker. CIS is good but D+ is so powerful and asks you so many questions that somebody is bound to click "allow" when they should have clicked "blocked". When Comodo 3.0 first came out there were hundreds of people locking themselves out of there pc's cause they would click "block" on explorer.exe. I know this first hand when I was using Comodo and working in the forums when all this happened.

Out Of The Box :

KIS asks you nothing but blocks 99%

CIS asks you tons and blocks 99%...............Only if you answer the pop ups properly

Tor32...............Step outside the box. Us users in here have enough knowledge to answer pop ups properly. But most pc users dont have a clue. Start fixing pc's like Matt and I do and you will see what I am talking about. Stop being so single minded. Go ahead and recommend CIS to a person who doesn't know a thing about security products and see what happens. Dont deny the fact that CIS involves too much user intervention. Stop judging things from your point of view and more of a real world perspective. I have said this before and I will say it again. Go around and ask people what security program protects there pc and I bet 70% dont have a clue.

If that's the only reply you can think of then you should stop using a pc. Get a grip dude. So you are saying that anyone who doesn't know how to use security better trade there pc's in for a Mac. Thats the most dumbest response I have ever heard. So far your main replied to this thread are "CIS is better cause its free" and if your a noob "buy a Mac". You are making a complete ___ out of yourself by saying such prejudice words.

Mac's are ten times more expensive then a pc. So what about all the non techy pc owners out there. What should they do smart guy............ Go ahead. Tell everyone out there that doesn't know the ins and outs of security for a pc well to get Mac. I have heard some dumb replies in my days but this takes the cake. Call up my Aunt who just bought a new Dell desktop for $400 cause thats all she could afford. Call her up and tell he to sell her pc and get a Mac for $1,300. See what kind of answer you get.
