Avira and false positive-BIG PROBLEM for this AV program!!!

Postby vuki83 » Sat Apr 10, 2010 5:49 am

I instaled Avira yesterday on my clean system( before that I checked system with BitDef.,KIS,ESS,MBAM and SAS- 100% clean), and i run a full scan. Rezults were amazing-Avira 10 found worm and t.horse in Office 2010 and Registry Booster 2010 instalation files which I download from official sites.
I also have to say that I set heuristic on HIGH LEVEL!
How to set heuristic in Avira-low, medium or high???
Is Avira totaly rubbish or is she so great even she found something in files which are 100% clean??? :ugeek:

And also if you set the heuristics to low and still popping up, put the guard and scanner on exception list.

Then send to analysis.avira.com and put suspected false positive (not malware)

Relax me too i have FP before on helwett packard but it removed also on the next update :D

So you set heuristics to "high" and now your complaining about false positives. LOL. BTW DO NOT use programs like Registry Booster unless your looking for trouble.

I'm sure you've seen the from AV-Comparatives. Avira's heuristic engine detected 74% of malware and it was in the top of the list, but lost the Advance+ rating due to false-positives. Anyway, office 2010 is not out of beta yet and I don't use registry cleaners...so I don't mind using Avira.

Link removed. Please respect the AV Comparatives rules and only link to the main site.
