What problems with NIS. Why didn't you ask in here and try to figure them out. You always give up so easily?

My friend installed NIS on my system for a couple of hours it worked great it had a full one year license then it went haywire it turned its av off and all the other components and when I restarted it it went back to the 30 day trial again so I went back to avast again and back to my old config besides that I uninstalled comodo and installed online armor maybe my friend didn't use a license maybe he just used a trial reset.

well then thats no reason to shy away from nis just because someone was using illegal methods why dont you install nis yourself and try it then you will know if you like it personally or not

Did you completely uninstall everything else? Were you sure that you were using the latest version of NIS? When you download the trial thats an outdated version. You need to run live updated a couple of times.

Maybe you're right jamesste2k7 just because my friend is using illegal methods to install NIS doesn't mean I should shy away from it you're right I should install NIS (the original version not the illegal one) and test it and see how it goes.

Well unless you were using NIS 2010 version 17.6.0.32 then it wasn't the latest.

UPDATE :

Security:

--- Avira AntiVir Personal 10 ---
--- SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition ---
--- Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware ---
--- PC Tools Firewall Plus w/ ESV ---

For better computer performance:

--- TuneUp Utilities 2010 ---
--- CCleaner ---
--- Auslogics Disk Defrag ---

Browsers:

--- Mozilla Firefox 3.6 ---
--- Google Chrome 4 ---
--- Internet Explorer 8 ---

Addons:

--- WOT ---
--- TACO ---
--- Adblock Plus ---

Is avira still good? How does it detect malware does it notify you or not for example if my nieces got redirected from a site and they downloaded load.exe will avira pop-up or will it just quarantine it and will not show a pop-up and can I use PC Tools firewall with threatfire and just disable the firewall's ESV?

Depends whether Avira detects the malicious file.
