Opera vs. Chrome and Mozilla

Chrome Dev gives you the bleeding edge to nightly chromium-based updates. And it's faster than the Beta version. But anyways, Chrome has already been blazing fast enough, even with its basic stable release.

Opera = excellent features, highly customizable, fast browsing, good security
Downside: not all websites are supported, no add-ons/extensions

Chrome = fastest browsing speed, good performance, strong security, easy to use
Downside: not all websites are supported, lacks customization

Firefox = fast browsing, good security, powerful extensions and customizations
Downside: loads slow, takes more memory, unstable at times

Overall, Chrome is the best browser in my opinion!

Firefox only loads slow off the start and it uses as much memory as Chrome. If memory is a problem for some the upgrade your memory. My Cousin only has 512 ram with a 400 mgz AMD and he uses Firefox with no issues at all. Once Firefox has been loaded into memory it will open up just as fast as Chrome.

Chrome chews through RAM on my PCs, more than FF with a number of extensions.
It's always been faster for me at rendering pages as well as startup speed though.

Chrome is where it's at for me.
It's strong in every category except extensions.

Firefox has the extensions market cornered.
It can (arguably) be both the most sexy and the most secure, depending on which extensions you employ.

Opera is bloatware.
Widgets?
An email client??
A BitTorrent client???

Using Chrome with AdThwart I am starting to feel settled in using it if I'm honest. It does seems a lot faster the Firefox for me going to give it a fair run though just to see before completely committing myself to the change.

I have Opera, Chrome (bleeding edge), IE 8 and Firefox 4 beta. I rotate through them for various reasons. At the moment I use FF4 and let mozilla get all the "telemetry" data they need so make this release a good one. It would be a shame to see only Chrome and IE in a reloaded version of the browser wars. I like seeing more players just to keep things interesting.

What annoys with various browsers currently:

FF4 - any Java applet that displays a modal dialog will crash because the OOPP thingy does not detect the window so it thinks the plugin crashed and kills it when it timeouts (devs are aware of the problem and will work on it)

Chrome - simply put, it lacks NoScript - I like choosing what runs on my machine

IE8 - I use Google Reader to subscribe to various RSS feeds. Some of those are podcasts. While other browsers display a flash player that allows you to listen to the casts, IE8 will try to use whatever app is the default for opening the files advertised in said RSS article. I would not have a problem with that if it actually worked :/ and , oh yeah, rendering and JavaScript content is darn slow compared to the others. MS slept for too long it seems.

Opera - I cannot use LastPass with it except with bookmarklets and those give just half the functionality. On the positive side, I saw it render IE9 test content almost as fast as the IE9 tech preview on my machine. Seems they have some GPU renedring thing in there. Kudos. Now integrate LastPass and I'm sold

Some websites give me the oops error, so I need to refresh.

Sites load slower.

Y!M loads slower.

This is only compared to Opera. At the moment, I have put Opera on-hold.

I went to google.co.uk with chrome and there were no problems at all, but yahoo mail does load slower. Opening an email takes about 5-20 seconds to open with chrome when in firefox it takes nearly a second.
