Bottom Line

Most free antivirus utilities are good at either malware removal or malware blocking, but not both. Ad-Aware Free proved very effective in both areas, almost as effective as Ad-Aware Pro. This is a great free antivirus solution for non-commercial use.

These aren't really "Community Reviews" since, well, they are done by PC Mag.

Lavasoft has obviously names this wrong, since it isn't an IS. Either way Ad-Aware Free is junk, imo.

Ad-Aware free now uses the Sunbelt Vipre engine so it should be rather good.

I used ad-aware on a regular basis for years. I got to where I simply did not have patience for its sluggishness and did not trust it to protect me. Now that it has the SunBelt engine it is worth another look, in my humble opinion.
