Facebook Boosts Security

Postby jamescv7 » Wed Jan 26, 2011 1:05 pm

Facebook on Wednesday introduced two new security features, including the option to encrypt your Facebook session at all times and an easier account authentication process.

At this point, Facebook uses a technology known as HTTPS whenever your password is sent to the social-networking site. HTTPS keeps data encrypted as it travels between your Web browser and servers and is mostly used for things like banks and credit card company Web sites. In an effort "to keep your data even more secure," Facebook said in a Wednesday blog post that it will provide the option to encrypt an account at all times.

I'm glad they will finally add HTTPS so your password would be harder to steal in transit.

This feature you have to opt-IN to, but everything else you have to opt-OUT (if possible) of. Why?
I'm a PC. I like the unpredictability.
