f-secure vs kaspersky

Postby kokopow » Fri May 20, 2011 8:59 pm

wondering which is lighter on my system and provides better overall protection (firewall, antivirus, hips,etc...) for my system. Should i waste money on kaspersky or stick with f-secure that's provided by my isp.

I say swap to Kaspersky. Good protection, very good HIPS, good firewall and I think a reasonabley good web guard.

Well it would help by following these few steps outlined here. KIS is the better choice but both tend to be heavy.

Your ISP is giving F-Secure Internet Security 2011 for free?
Side note : What OS are you using?...

What is your ISP and can you provide a link showing the F-Secure download please. Did you read the out lined A vs. B rules? I found something that said "Free for 3 months then $5/month after that".

Comcast = Norton 360
AT&T = McAfee
Cox = McAfee

I would stick with F-secure. It's a very capable suite. No point spending the money on Kaspersky when f-secure will serve you just fine :)

I have read the out lined A vs B rules and tried to change my original post to fit these rules. As for the title i couldn't really change it. My current isp is shaw which is a canadian isp.
Shaw website http://www.shaw.ca/
Shaw's f-secure download page http://shawsecure.ca/
