CDBurnerXP Warning

Postby Dieselman » Sun May 29, 2011 11:10 am

I was a fan of this product many years ago and still am. Recent versions do not recognize my CD/DVD properly. My firmware is current according to Dell. The designer of CDBunerXP insist the problem is on my end. I can burn CD's but when I insert a DVD I get a "No disk" message. ImgBurn and ALL other programs work just fine. I tried every single free CD/DVD burner tool out there and not one issue. So I saw a newer version of CDBurnerXP and thought I would give it a whirl. Well the same problem but according the latest change log the issue was addressed. So I used Revo Uninstaller in Advanced mode to remove CDBurnerXP and Revo found tons of left overs. When that was done I used CCleaner's registry cleaner and found more entries related to CDBurnerXP. Last but not least I used jv16 Power Tools which found yet even more left over entries. So not only does the program not burn DVD's for me it left TONS of crap in my pc.

Note...................This is just my experience. Many of you made have had success with CDBurnerXP. But the forums are filled with the same complaints as myself. Guess I will keep ImgBurn.

I always said ImgBurn was the best.

I had problems with it as well.

Starburn Portable or InfraRecorder have been ideal for me, IMGBurn as well, CD BurnerXP I have always thought well of but never used myself, knowing this I don't see it as such a good recommendation.
