Before combofix started it told me it detected that Avast! realtime scanner was running and told me to disable it before i hit continue. I opened avast and couldn't find out how to disable the scanner, it didn't even seem to be on from what i could tell (which wasnt much to be honest). Then my PC froze and to force shutdown. Suggestions?
Also, i'm running this in safemode with networking just fyi.
Yes but how do i go about doing that? I even looked under processes in task manager and didnt see anything that looked like it belonged to Avast. Does anyone know the name of the process? Otherwise how do i disable it? it seemed as though it wasn't enabled in the first place.
I have never known a real-time AV that runs in Safe Mode. I know that Avast and Avira do not. You can scan with them, but you don't have enough drivers for real-time protection.
I should have been more specific. It is in regular mode that you definitely have to shut down all of your real-time protection before you scan with ComboFix, because they are obviously running in the background otherwise.
K when i open an avast in safe mode a little icon appears in the tray, i do as your told (hit disable all shields permanently) and combofix still says avast is running and that it may cause problems with my system if i continue with combofix. What should i do?
