how to remove virus from windows 2000 pro. will avira work?
Mark
I have used all the websites you suggested malwarebytes, avira, and superantispyware. However, anytime I go to any website, it redirects me to some other random site. Please help!

I cannot run malwarebytes, avira, and superantispyware. A “windows cannot access path” message apears. Also I cannot run safe mode. My computer is a password protected company computer. I can log on to XP in normal mode. I have tried downloading malwarebytes and avira over again, but each time the downloads stop with an error. I can however download superantispyware over and over but each time I use it, it either disappears or stops working and the same “cannot access message” is displayed. Will I need to contact my administrator to enter safe mode or is there another way to get the malware off my computer? Please help.

@Rob – you might haft to use a boot cd of some kind. I would recommended using:
1. Kaspersky’s Rescue CD
2. Bitdefender’s Rescue cd
3. Microsoft System Sweeper (Its in beta)
You will haft to get on another computer to download this to a disc. If your wanting a reply from Matt, try commenting on one of his blog.
