Windows Security Suite Rogue

Well, I figured I’d see a rogue that is pretending to be Microsoft Security Essentials and here it is. Windows Security Suite is a fake antivirus (rogue) that really registers itself (as an antivirus) in the Microsoft Security Center (first time I’ve seen that). This rogue terminates every user spawned exe except of [...]

No Internet after Virus Removal – Ndis.sys

I remove malware everyday from PC’s and whenever I see a trend I’ll usually write about it. This post is about the infection of the Ndis.sys drive (a Windows file which is a component of the Windows networking software). As many of you know I usually use bootable media to remove malware. [...]

Uploading KIS 2010 Review Part 2

The Vulnerability scanner.
Application Control (HIPS) with plenty of examples.
RAM consumption.
10 malicious URLS.
Wrap Up (yes…I had to wrap it up tonight because I’m too busy this week).

Big KIS Correction

Sadly I discovered that the Sandbox in KIS 2010 does not support the 64 bit OS. Sorry for any confusion. This is truly a bummer since almost every pc sold now is 64 bit. I really need to find a sandbox that works on a 64 bit OS.
Anyone know of any yet?

Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 Review Part 1

I finally got some time today and did a little intro to Kaspersky Internet Security 2010.
The intro covered:

where to download the trial
why I like using KIS
the install process
the update process
and a tiny look at the interface

I’m not sure how many parts there will be, but I’m hoping to wrap things up on Saturday…but it all [...]
