Remember back in the day when all you needed was a good antivirus that was up-to-date? Yep, that was about 3 years ago. Now with more polymorphic malware than we can “shake a stick at” our anti-virus is begging us for help and help is available. In this post I’ll list a few of the combos that have worked really well for me (and my clients):
AV = any ONE of these below
- Norton Antivirus 2011 or greater
- Kaspersky Antivirus 2011 or greater
- Microsoft Security Essentials 2+ or greater
- AVG 2011 or greater
- Bit Defender 2011 or greater
- McAfee 2011 or greater
- Nod32 Antivirus 4 or greater
- Avast 6 or greater
- AntiVir 10 or greater
- AV + Malwarebytes Pro (this is the combo I’m installing for my clients now since it’s so hands off)
- AV + ThreatFire
- AV + Comodo Defense+

There are so many combos out there, the 3 I’ve listed above are the ones that have served my clients well.
