Avast.
I replaced it with Anti-vir at one point...
Until an update made it unusable on Vista 64, go figure.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Avast has been with me for a long time now and has since been upgraded to premium.
I have yet to see anything I would want to replace it with.

You want a suggestion olblueyez?<br

People using Vista, Vista is F,ed up. Ryan, your implying that Norton is a good product??? Norton has been breaking OS installs on my computers for 10 years. Its crap. People moaning about system resources and using Vista??? Win 7 is much lower drag on a computer than Vista, don't blame that on GData.

I see lots of people moaning but I don’t see any recommendations for something better. I found it did seem to slow my browser experience... not always, just every so often. It also seemed to have some sort of conflict with the Intel Turbo Boost on my CORE I5 CPU. It started maxing-out the turbo boost with nothing going on. When I'd try to get in and see what processes were happening, Turboboost would magically fix itself for a while. This issue took several hours to appear, and happened more easily after coming out of sleep states. Also, GDATA has a quick little pop-up that happens in the bottom right corner whenever it scans parts of websites. It was driving me nuts, and there seemed to be no way to turn it off. Again, no response from GDATA as to this concern, and a few others.I am now trying the new Avast, and it appears to be a far smoother product.

I ended up dumping GDATA. One thing I noticed while researching is that it doesn't include anti-keylogger technology? I wonder if that's important, or if the extensive scanning engines, which are updated often, will likely include new keyloggers very quickly? Should I worry?Second, I was playing around with the Eicar test file to test GDATA and its ability to detect viruses already on the hard drive. I turned GDATA's "monitor" off, downloaded Eicar, and let it sit on my desktop. When I started GDATA again, it ran for several minutes and didn't see the file. I eventually double-clicked to run it, and GDATA caught it. Surely a scan would have caught it, but I have grown comfortable with other programs that find stuff by themselves.Third, GDATA tech support needs to rework its website to serve its English customers better. When filling out a tech report question, the pull-downs don't even include the option to choose a 2010 version of their product (only 2009), or Windows 7 as an OS. GDATA does support Windows 7, so obviously they need to update their help pages. Also, it's been 24 hours and no support response from them about my questions (other than the initial notification that my e-mail was received).

I’m testing GDATA Internet Security 2010 at home. I made copule of my friends buy the 3 user Total security and since then they 'd been complaining a lot and 3 of the users have completely unistalled it with in 2 months. My friend who actually ordered it was initially very happy about its performence, but he is now skeptic because he thinks G Data corrupted his Vista OS and he is reinstalling the OS. He may not install G-Data again and may be would never ask my advice again. Believe me he used to trust me a lot before on this issues and now he rarely approaches me. I feel guilty and bad. But from my own experience I liked it the most and mioght give a try again this year. anyway I sincerely hope G-Data do something about crashing the OS(false positives I believe) and gain their valuable customer base.

I was a bigfan of G-DATA (<a
