yeah he’s still uploading because when I go onto his page it shows that the page is still loading it’ll probably be up for all of us to view in a few minutes.

malwarekilla November 6, 2008 at 4:36 am

…uggg…you tube post-processing is on delay…it should be about 15 min.

fds November 6, 2008 at 4:38 am

any hints on how it did, is it going to replace the antimalware that you provide to your costumers.

f November 6, 2008 at 4:45 am

@fds
are we a geek or a nerd

your prob a geek to, otherwise why are you on this page?

fds November 6, 2008 at 4:51 am

definitely a geek, i check out pretty much every FREE antivirus program that is out there. Then I decide which one I want to have on my computer. Currently I have been switching between Avira free and spyware doctor with antivirus starter edition. This comodo review might sway me to go their way though, we’ll see.

YO MATT WHATS GOING ON IVE BEEN WAITING FOR LIKE AN HOUR WILL YOU BE ABLE TO UPLOAD THE VIDS TONIGHT OR SHOULD I GO TO SLEEP!

3xist November 6, 2008 at 8:12 am

Hi Matt!

Can you check your PM’s at the Comodo Forums, It’s about the missed samples CIS missed (If there were any).

And to answer your question in the videos… CIS uses it’s own engine, Which was redisgned from scratch since Comodo Antivirus v2.0 BETA.

I have a paid licence for comodo IS. I have had trouble with the antivirus not updating and not blocking viruses. I dont get viruses often. (I have paid attention in class with mr malwarekilla!!)

But there where several files it did not find when I downloaded some crap via limewire. Spyware doctor and SAS save my a**!

Its a shame thoug, because I really really love the interface of it.

PS: Please excuse my bad english. My native language is upside down from english! (norwegian)

Daniel Rasmussen November 6, 2008 at 9:37 am

What is this commercial up on top of this article?? Buy Antivirus pro 2008?? Isn`t that some kind of a virus?

This is called “System Shutdown Simulator”

System Shutdown Simulator tries to bypass your HIPS (or any other security software installed such as antivirus and firewall), by exploiting the timeframe where your computer shuts down. When Windows shuts down, every applications receive a message to close, and naturally every application obey to it. However SSS freezes this shutdown, and while other security software have closed themselves, it tries to create for instance a registry entry (you can also send a ping, or download the EICAR test file).

vkotzath November 6, 2008 at 12:50 pm

Hey Matt.This was unfair…The popups and all the bad processes,were blocked manually.Not by comodo,but by you…No SAS scanning afterwards,no nothing.Come on man…

f November 6, 2008 at 1:13 pm

@fds
same, i check out like almost all free antiviruses

malwarekilla November 6, 2008 at 2:35 pm

@ everyone – wow…lot’s of interest on this one.

@ vkotzath – SAS log is being uploaded in a few minutes. Also, I don’t have the power to block any popup manually…I closed them, but they are still active in RAM.

@ josh – i’ll be uploading the missed malware on saturday. Wow, that’s a very nice engine compared to most.

robin November 6, 2008 at 3:47 pm

aight, that’s pretty awesome

why disable the bad bho’s _before_ you test ie (this time)!?

Joe November 6, 2008 at 7:39 pm

Keep the political stuff out of your reviews. “Go Obama!” at the end of reviews is a real turn off and unprofessional.

malwarekilla November 6, 2008 at 7:48 pm

@ Joe – i’m not professional btw…

Joe November 6, 2008 at 10:08 pm

>@ Joe – i’m not professional btw…

Never claimed your were. Just that it was unprofessional behavior. I just thought you wanted to be taken seriously by the anti-malware companies and have them listen to your reviews and encourage them to improve there products for their customers. Would you take someone’s seriously if at the end of their review for say, a movie, if at the end they spouted political slogans? The people who visit your site and watch your videos are here for a review of anti malware products. If they want to hear political commentary, they can turn on CNN.

But hey, this is America and this is your website, go for it.

AV-Guy November 6, 2008 at 10:13 pm

malwarekilla aka Matt, continue to do PRECISELY as you have been doing i.e. providing us with great insight on many different antivirus and antimalware solutions. These are your personal reviews, done with your personal time and resources, which you have been kind enough to share with us. If ‘Joe’ doesn’t like the way you are conducting YOUR reviews, he has several simple options: 1. Do his own reviews 2.No longer watch your reviews. 3. Or if you’d agree, enlist your services on a pay-per-review basis where he can dictate your commentary!

And yes, Matt, I agree with you 100%…GO OBAMA!

malwarekilla November 6, 2008 at 10:27 pm

@Joe – honestly man, no company has ever even offered me a free copy of their software much less a few bucks (or even cents)…so I’m not trying to be professional. It was just a random comment…just having a bit of fun…however someone has just offered to buy my blog for $10,000. I of course said NO.

@AV-Guy – Thanks man. Your seem to get it. I’m reviewing these products to stay on top of the security aspect of my business. They are my “average joe” reviews and I love doing them for the hell of it.

“src” Just testing if my gravatar is showing

Daniel Rasmussen November 7, 2008 at 12:27 am

“src” Cool this avatar!! Well Matt. I have commentet on your comodo review at wilders security. I like the way you do things!! No bullsh**!!

I wish you could try to se how the products reponse when it comes to blocking online threats and not just the removal part. But that would maybe take a serious long time i guess!

Anyway! Good site, good reviews, keep up the good work!

-Daniel-

malwarekilla November 7, 2008 at 2:37 am

@Daniel – dude…awesome grav man! FYI – SAS Pro revisted going up tonight!

John November 7, 2008 at 3:31 am

Hey Matt, I wonder if that is “Joe The Plumber?” Keep up the great work and “GO OBAMA!”

Daniel Rasmussen November 7, 2008 at 10:55 am

I think SAS will do exellent! I have it myself. Paid only 29.95 for PRO +9.95 for a lifetime subscription. Thats a good deal! Looking forward to the review! I use GDATA IS 2009 and SAS PRO together and my machine works like a charm.

I also have MBAm PRO and use the scanner sometimes.

Larry W. Lyles November 14, 2008 at 12:44 am

In watching the video review for Comodo Internet Security suite 3.5, the video was not for this product. The video was actually for SUPER AntiSpyware Pro November Test 2 – Part 2.

HH November 28, 2008 at 7:03 am

I am really confused, since PCMag has only rated CIS as “fair.” In fact, the reviewer thought the AV component was bad. Is the AV component better than Avira, Avast, or AVG free versions? most people in the Comodo forum admit that the Comodo AV is still relatively weak…and so I am surprised by this review.

f November 28, 2008 at 6:04 pm

@HH
the av component is still relitivly weak, but this time he went manual

josh December 24, 2008 at 8:44 pm

Yes the protection from system and application modification and the ability to kill process and block them in realtime was what made me use this application.
Those benefits can easily be used along side a seperte antivirus

rolo January 21, 2009 at 7:43 am

hey ya,, hmm uh will commodo work with vista 64 bit?
and if im running kaspersky should i run commodo also?

HH January 22, 2009 at 8:23 pm

Comodo doesn’t work with Vista 64 bit. If you are running Kaspersky AV, then running the Defense+ and Firewall is a good addition. If you are running KIS, then no, because KIS already has a HIPS built in.

joey January 29, 2009 at 5:20 am

Actually, Comodo does work with 64-bit. I’m running it right now and it works great! I installed the prog on a computer that was infected with some nasty viruses and it cleaned it up like a charm! I highly recommend Comodo Security Suite. It’s a great program to install for anyone looking to save money yet maintain security.

snegoviksukablyat August 2, 2009 at 12:18 pm

hello
im new on this forum….

extent August 26, 2009 at 12:01 pm

from most antivirus websites Comodo fared at the bottom of the barrel for detecting viruses, but how much better is it now? Its firewall has always been a winner, and i suppose any free antivirus is better than nothing.. but i would like to hear some more present opinions as to whether it has improved or is good enough for the average user that does not download very often, as an example? …
